Gnidia pinnifolia has white petals with a pink reverse and like its relative, tolerates a wide variety of conditions including a coastal position.

There's something special about ameadow of everlastings or sewejaartjies. Syncarpha argenteus is a pretty, silver-leafed, spreading perennial with flower spikes to about 75cm. The buds are bright pink and the open flowers have white petals with a pink underside creating a multi-coloured effect. Add to this drought and heat tolerance, and we're looking at a landscaping winner.

Cineraria 'Silver Star' baffles botanists. It's an indigenous 'Dusty Miller' and grows much like the exotic it resmbles, being slightly more compact at approx 30cm. It tolerates clipping well and makes a dramatic statement in perennial borders.
